The Road to be filmed in Pittsburgh
It has been confirmed today that the highly acclaimed novel The Road (IMDB) will be filmed in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. According to 2929 Productions’ president, Marc Butan, Pittsburgh offers “the most diverse set of looks.” This is big news in the film world, after McCarthy’s novel No Country for Old Men has been reviewed as one of the greatest films of 2007. Filming will begin in February to take advantage of the weather and snow. This is a great honor for Pittsburgh and may open the door to other productions to be filmed in the area. The governor and legislature also wish to encourage film production by enacting film incentive programs in July.
